Fashion Marketing in the Circular Economy
Fashion marketing student Ellie Graham has been accepted to join the Ellen MacArthur Circular Economy Programme. Starting in April, the ‘Linear to Circular London’ programme is being held online for approximately 200 selected participants.
The circular economy challenges the fundamentals of how we produce, use, and consume. The online programme designed to empower the next generation of circular economy leaders and pioneers. Offering a different way forward for the economy, society, and the environment, the circular economy is built on three principles — design out waste and pollution, keep products and materials in use, and regenerate natural systems.
The programme will discuss topics including circular design, business models, plastics, fashion, cities, and food, and look at case studies.
Ellie tells us,
“I am really excited and honoured to have been chosen to take part in this programme. I think it’ll be a really interesting opportunity (as well as something to keep me occupied in lockdown, after our FMP hand in!) My final major project has looked at how the circular economy model could work within the beauty industry. This is something I would love to continue researching and working on after university. I am really passionate about making sustainable options accessible to as many people as possible. Hopefully this course will aid my research and help put me on the right path for my future career.”
